The short version: your models and creations stay on your device. There are no accounts, no cookies and no adverts, and nothing you build is sent to us.
Who runs ClickDragSnap
ClickDragSnap is an independent hobby project run from the United States. It is responsible for the little personal data described on this page (the “controller” under data protection law). You can reach it at monolithinitiative1997@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in the app happens in your browser. A model you open is read and drawn on your device and is never uploaded. To let you carry on later, the app keeps these in your browser’s storage on this device:
- Build progress: which step you are on, the pieces placed in it, the hints you used and your building time. It is filed under a code worked out from the model, so the file’s name isn’t kept.
- Sets you upload and start: when you start building a .glb file you chose, a copy of the file is kept in your browser’s storage so you can carry on from the home screen. It is never uploaded. Up to 20 sets are kept, files over 50 MB are not, and you can delete each one with the bin on its card.
- Backups you download: “Download backup” on the home screen saves your uploaded sets, build progress and creations to a file on your device, so you can restore them after clearing your browser data. The file is made and read in your browser and is never sent to us. Keep it somewhere safe: anyone who has it can open your uploaded sets and creations.
- Your creations from Create, with a small picture of each one.
- Settings: sound, the glowing spots, the colours and parts you used last, the half-stud grid, which example set you looked at last, which sets you opened most recently (so the home screen can show them first), and whether you ticked “Don’t show this again” on the warning before leaving a build.
None of this is sent anywhere. Anyone using this browser on this device can see it, and you can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser’s settings.
Browsers can clear it too. Safari deletes a site’s storage after 7 days without a visit, and private windows forget it when they close. Export your creations as .glb files to keep a copy, and note down the step you’re on.
Visitor counts and page speed
The site is hosted by Vercel, and uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and check that pages load quickly. Both are served from this site and use no cookies. They record the pages viewed, the page you came from, your country, the type of device, browser and operating system, and how fast the page loaded. They don’t see your models, creations or anything you build, and they don’t follow you to other sites.
Because nothing on this site follows you to other sites, it works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
Neither keeps an ID for you. To tell one visit from another on the same day, Vercel works out a code from the request and throws it away after 24 hours, so visits can’t be linked from one day to the next. The counts are only shown as totals.
We use these because we have a legitimate interest in knowing how many people use the site and keeping it fast, and they collect as little as they can to do that (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time; blocking scripts from /_vercel/ in your browser or a content blocker stops them, and the app works the same without them.
Like any web host, Vercel receives your IP address and browser details when it delivers a page, and may keep them for a short time to keep the service running and secure. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
Vercel is based in the United States, so this information may be handled there. Vercel protects transfers from the EU, the UK and Switzerland under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
- On your device: until you delete it or your browser clears it.
- Visitor counts and page speed: only as totals, for as long as Vercel keeps analytics for this site’s plan. The daily visit code is thrown away after 24 hours.
- Vercel’s server logs: for the short time Vercel needs to run and secure the service, as its privacy policy describes.
Everything else is served from here
The brick shapes, the example sets and the Outfit font come from this site too, so your browser doesn’t contact LDraw, Google or anyone else while you use it. The page’s security settings stop it from loading anything from other sites.
Links to Reddit, Sketchfab and LDraw take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies. Files you upload or post there are shared under their rules, not ours.
Children
Lots of brick fans are children, so ClickDragSnap is built to be safe for them without a grown-up having to set anything up. There are no accounts, no chat, no adverts and no in-app purchases, and it doesn’t ask for names, email addresses or any other personal details. The only links out are to Reddit, Sketchfab and LDraw, which have their own age rules.
Like every website, ClickDragSnap’s host sees the IP address of each device that visits, because that is how pages reach it. The US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) counts an IP address as a persistent identifier. Here it is used only for these internal operations: delivering the pages, keeping the site running and secure, and counting visits and measuring page speed as described above. To make sure it is used for nothing else, there are no adverts, profiles or accounts and no trackers from other companies, the visit counter turns it into a code that is thrown away after 24 hours, only totals are ever shown, and it is never used to contact anyone or to work out who they are.
Parents and guardians can email monolithinitiative1997@gmail.com with any questions.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, the UK or another place with similar laws, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to limit how it is used, or object to it being used. Because we don’t keep anything that identifies you, there is usually nothing we can find, but we will always answer. Email monolithinitiative1997@gmail.com.
You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as your country’s regulator in the EU or the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK.
Changes
If ClickDragSnap adds accounts or a shared library, this page will be updated before they go live, saying what changed.
